Welcome to Skill Spark. We believe that curiosity shouldn't come at the cost of privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you or your child use the Skill Spark application.
Skill Spark is designed to be low-friction and privacy-first. We do not require account registration to use the core features of the app.
To provide personalised and encouraging feedback on challenge submissions, Skill Spark uses OpenAI's GPT models. When a challenge is submitted, the text is sent securely to OpenAI's API to generate feedback. We strip personally identifiable information (PII) before transmission wherever possible. OpenAI is not permitted to use this data to train their public models.
To keep Skill Spark free and accessible, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements. We have strictly configured AdMob for a child-directed audience:
We do not sell your data or your child's data to third parties. Data is only shared with essential service providers (our hosting infrastructure and OpenAI for feedback) strictly for the purpose of operating the app.
Skill Spark is designed for children ages 6โ14 and fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Since no account is required, data is stored locally on the device and securely on our servers tied to an anonymous session identifier. Parents may request deletion of their child's data by contacting us at the email below.
If you are accessing Skill Spark from the European Union, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data under the GDPR. You can clear local app data at any time from your device settings, or contact us for server-side deletion requests.
We retain user data for as long as the app is in use. Inactive accounts (no activity for 12 months) are automatically purged from our servers. You may request immediate deletion at any time.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users by prominently posting a notice within the Skill Spark app before the changes take effect.
